Sand Creek Country Club Awards Two Scholarships

On September 4th, Sand Creek employees Samantha Hickle and Matt Mellen were named recipients of Alice Wesson Scholarships.  The fund was established in memory of Alice, a longtime employee of Sand Creek who was killed in a tragic car accident in 2000. Both Samantha and Matt have worked at Sand Creek and will use the well-deserved funds to continue their studies at the University of St. Francis and Ball State University, respectively.

FAWN Dinner & Fashion Show Benefits Housing Opportunities

Friends Assisting Women in Need, Inc. (FAWN) sponsored the above event on September 8th at Avalon Manor in Hobart, Indiana.  Fashions were provided by Seasons on the Square, David’s Mens Clothier, and Beyond Pink.  The evening began with cocktails and a silent auction and was followed by dinner and the fashion show.  Housing Opportunities is based in Valparaiso and their mission is to provide safe, affordable housing and related support services to people in the communities they serve.

Fundraiser Held for St. Patrick’s Parish

More than 225 women spent a fabulous evening at Sand Creek Country Club on 9/22 for the 3rd Annual Ladies Night Out for St. Pat’s Parish (Chesterton).  Following dinner there was a fashion show featuring clothing and accessories from Duneland Clothiers, Ella’s Bella, and Indiana Summer.  Proceeds will go to the school’s operating fund and will be used to create the best possible learning environment for students.  Professionals from Serenity Salon & Spa donated hair and make-up services for the models.

Seasons on the Square

Seasons on the Square in Valpo recently hosted two special in-store events.  The first was held 9/8 when Patricia Miller, co-founder of Vera Bradley, the Fort Wayne-based manufacturer of fabric handbags, wallets, travel and other accessories, was in the store to meet and greet Vera Bradley fans.  The next day, owner Donna Phelps hosted a Joseph Ribkoff trunk show, in which selections from the fall and holiday 2011 collection were previewed.
