from some of their recent events events. The organization is devoted to networking, mentoring, and philanthropy,
and believes that the friendships forged within the group will lead to business

Women Recovery Fundraiser Dinner

The annual dinner was held
November 12th in La
Porte. Worthy Women Recovery
provides recently
incarcerated women with re-entry programs and the tools necessary to reduce
recidivism rates, substance abuse and addictions, and to empower them to live
as positive role models for their children and in their communities.

BWUN was well represented at
the above event, held November 11th at the Blue Chip Casino in
Michigan City.

After Hours Held
at The Pearl Event Center
Three Michigan City
businesses hosted a Chamber of Commerce “Business After Hours” at The Pearl
Event Center on November 1st.
The hosting businesses were owners of The Pearl, Great Lakes Catering,
and Trail Creek Liquors. The
well-attended event provided MC Chamber members and guests the opportunity to
network in a beautiful setting with great food and drinks (provided by event
sponsors) and live music by Acoustic Duo.
Many lucky members went home with raffle prizes provided by Trail Creek
Liquors.

Inspiring
Women Luncheon
Draws
Enthusiastic Crowd
The first annual “Inspiring
Women” luncheon, hosted by the Michigan City Area Chamber of Commerce was held
October 25th at The Pearl Event Center in Michigan City. Best-selling author, Catherine Lanigan,
who grew up and currently lives in La Porte, was the guest speaker and she is
an inspiring woman herself and inspired the approximately 75 women in
attendance with the story of her life’s journey.
