The La Porte Hospital Foundation Hosts Golf Outing

The 23rd annual healthcare scholarship golf outing sponsored by the La Porte Hospital Foundation was held June 16th at Briar Leaf Golf Course in La Porte.

The full field of 144 participating golfers was delighted that what started out as a rainy morning turned into a glorious afternoon. Special guest, Peter Longo, who is a trick shot professional, entertained guests with a demonstration of shots that golfers’ dreams are made of!  Monies raised allow The Foundation to fund scholarships to local students pursuing healthcare careers. Many of these students will return after they graduate to provide quality healthcare to residents of our community.

Monies raised exceeded $40K and will be used for scholarships, youth programs, workshops, diversity training, arts & cultural events, and other outreach initiatives.

Round Barn Presents: Reds, Whites, and Brews

This annual festival (now in its 19th year) has become a Beach Coast favorite. Hundreds of wine, beer, vodka, and music enthusiasts attended this event, which was held July 2nd and 3rd at Round Barn Winery in Baroda.  There were hayrides and other events for kids, great food, live music, and lots of libations—all produced on the estate by the Moersch family (see related story in this issue of The Beach Coast).
